is this the right equation? if i want an upside down abs value thing, with a slope of 3/2 the vertex is (2,20) i would write it y=-|3/2x+2|+20 ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x-2 , but the rest looks good

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Isn't it x - 3?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

nah; move 2 to the right, subtract 2 from x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x-2 should be parantheticalled

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Ok, right. Meaning x - 3 without the parentheses :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

technicalities lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanx :) and everything else is correct??? u thanx soooo mcuh!!!!!!!!!!!!! i owe my grade to u :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the rest of it works out fine.... maybe lol

OpenStudy (amistre64):

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=- |3%2F2%28x-2%29|%2B20

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, it it highlighted the whole thing it would show that its good with the (x-2) in it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanx, im taking ur word for it. :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

in that case let me be specific ;) y = -|3/2(x-2)|+20 which is the same as: y = -|(3/2)x-3|+20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i have to put x-2 in parenthesis? or would this work y=-3/2|x-2|+20? i don't understand whats the deal witht he parenthesis
