Positive and Negative Affects of marketing?

Positive: brings to the attention of the public new products that will be on the market for them to purchase. Which is important in a capitalist economy; being the consumer nation that we are.
Negative affects: Encourages senseless buying and makes people feel as if there lives are inadequate due to the fact that they haven't acquired the newest devices shown on TV. In other words people want want want and take what they have for granted.
