(y^4+3y-1)/(y^2-3)

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

im guessing polynomial division

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dumbcow is right, (y^4+3y-1)/(y^2-3) = y^2 + 3 + (3y + 8/y^2 - 3)

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

for most part its same steps as regular long division do you need help with the steps

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

nothingmaster gave you the correct answer if thats all you need

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure how that answer is correct

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

(y^2-3)(y^2 +3 +(3y+8/y^2-3)) =y^4 +3y^2 -3y^2 -9 +(3y+8) =y^4 +3y -1 which is the original numerator so quotient is correct
