find the coordinates of the circle's center ......
B(?;?)
Your question may be rephrased what is f(x) or what is y when x is 1. As a check what is f(x), or what is y when x is -1?
is x=+-1? O.o
0,1/4
O.o Will u explain me how did u get that? Please???
same technique get y in terms of x from the 2nd equation, replca y in the first equation thenb solve it
btw there is something weird going on my posts are showing up in 3 questions at once
idk wht 2 say abt tht....
w8 a sec...wht 2nd equation? O.o
the equation of the circle must be x^2 + (y - b) = 1 since the circle must lie on the y axes due to symmtry and we don't know the y co-ordinate of the centre(we'll call it b)
shouldn't (y-b) b squared?
now y = x^2 the resulting quadratic after subsitution can only have 1 root therefor D = 0
sorry typing error
Definitely I'm very stupid at maths....:(:(:( :'(
don't worry I bet you're great at something else
^_^ Thanks ^_^ I got an idea...will u lend me ur brain only 4 1 day (15/06) i have a math exam...I'll give it back..SWEAR!!!!
ha ha ha ... wish I could do that ... but alas
Yea..poor me....:(:( :'( :'( ...i guess i have to squeeze out my brain for a loong time till i learn these very well :S
When y=1/4, x=+/- 1/2. Doesn't hold a 1 unit radius?!
gtg guys best of luck angela
thnx ^_^
