how do i solve :6-2(5y-1)<18
Solve it as if the < were an =. As a general rule, that's what you do with all inequalities. *If* you have to divide by a negative, then you'll have to flip the < around to become a >.
Does that help?
that kind of helps what are the steps for solving the answer
Why don't you work through them on here and I'll tell you at each step whether you're doing good. I'll start you off with the first one: \[\begin{align} 6 - 2(5y - 1) &< 18\\ -2(5y - 1) &< 18 - 6\\ -2(5y - 1) &< 12 \end{align}\]
is tht the answer
no not the answer - part of the answer
i need to know how to get the answer
And if you put forth some effort as I try to walk you through it, you will get to the answer.
I posted your first step, now try to take the next one while you try to solve it. Post that, and I'll let you know if it's right or wrong.
