Why do the equations not work anymore?

So I try to input an equation with the equation editor:

Oh, and the answer gets posted instead, also typing it right in, doesn't seem to work anymore: \(\binom n k\)

I agree, this is very annoying.

This should have been fixed early yesterday; sorry for the issue, there was a problem upgrading the library we use for equation typesetting.
