OpenStudy (cindy):

simplify 5 + 6 (m+1) is it 11m+12 is it correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

once again u got part right. but when u multiplied 11 times 1 than it should be 11. so it should be 11m+11

OpenStudy (cindy):

oh true i was adding

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea u were. and its a very common mistake witch i make sometimes too lol

OpenStudy (cindy):

thks for caching tat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea no prob :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry but both 11m+ 11 and 11m + 12 are incorrect. One should follow BODMAS ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_operations) when solving such equations. BODMAS suggests that one should solve BRACKET first. so: 5 + 6(m+ 1) => 5 + 6m + 6 (solving the bracket) => 11 +6m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and u r correct. cant believe that slipped out of my head. have to fallow PAMDAS.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry bout that cindy
