how do u find the area of a sector?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What shape is the sector? triangular. rectangular. square? cube?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is a circle with like 1/4 shaded wiht one side says 2 and is a90 degrree angel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the formula for the are of a circle is \[A={\Pi}r^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you find the proportion of the total area by finding the angle ratio. Let a be the angle of the shaded area. Then the fraction of the total area that is shaded is a/360. So the area of the shaded region is \[(a/360)*\pi r^{2}\] in your case a=90 90/360=1/4 r=2 ( i think this is what you mean by a side saying 2) \[A=(1/4)\pi 2^{2}=\pi\]
