I'm trying to do that.. and a whole bunch of other things like VIm at thesame time. but I don't use office / i use libreoffice for spreadsheets. and LaTeX for documents

but i won't argue against vim.. it's great, too.
emacs is just much more intuitive for me - would like to know vim better though, cause not every system you encounter got emacs :(
