Find the area of the regular polygon. Give the answer to the nearest tenth. square with radius 13 cm A) 169 cm2 B) 347 cm2 C) 676 cm2 D) 338 cm2 I am unsure how to go about doing this. Thanks!

I'm taking radius to be half of the side length. Then one side is 26 cm and the area of a square is the length of a side squared. A=26^2=676 C) 676

OpenStudy (watchmath):

I guess radius should be half of the diagonal in this case.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in that case the side length is 26/sqrt(2) and we have an area of 338

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm... Which one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what has your teacher used when they talked about radius of a square? I geuss it would make more sense that it is the measure from the center of the object to the circle your polygon is inscribed in. I would go with half of the diagonal

338

Thanks!
