x^3+9x^2-2x-18 factor by grouping

OpenStudy (amistre64):

9 and x are good candidates maybe: (x^3-2x) + (9x^2-18) x(x^2 -2) +9(x^2-2) (x+9) (x^2-2)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(x+9) (x-sqrt(2)) (x+sqrt(2)) to get technical

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u just pick polynomial out and factor them out

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i try to see what I can group that has something in common to pull out

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(x^3+9x^2) + (-2x-18) x^2(x+9) -2(x+9) (x+9) (x^2-2) works the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok I was trying that and not havin any luck

OpenStudy (amistre64):

mix and match till you get something that works ;)
