help please

OpenStudy (aroub):

lcd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aroub what is lcd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lowest common denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can cross multiply which is -8*1 over 4*7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then simplify which will give (-2*1)/(1*7) = -2/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i came up with -32/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok simplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah cross multiply was a poor choice of words, when you have two fractions you want to multiply, you multiple the numerators and denominators together, then simplify if you can

OpenStudy (anonymous):

meaning -8/7*4/1 =32/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that would be correct but you had the original equation as -8/7 *1/4= -8/28 = -2/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I don't need to change the 1/4 to 4/1 is tht correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not when you are simply multiply to fractions together, it would be the numerator times the numerator, and the denominator times the denominator.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ty very much I have a few more question after this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
