Expand: (4x-x^2)^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(4x-x^2)^3=(4x-x^2)(4x-x^2)(4x-x^2)\] If we take this two terms at a time, we have: \[(4x-x^2)(4x-x^2)=16x^2-4x^3-4x^3+x^4\] Now multiply this by the third term. \[(16x^2-8x^3+x^4)(4x-x^2)=64x^3-16x^4-32x^4-8x^5+4x^5-x^6\] Simplify by adding like terms, and you are finished.
