please help......... solve for x x^3+2x^2=13x+6

OpenStudy (amistre64):

solve for x ...... hmm...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

get it all to one side to keep track of it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x^3+2x^2=13x+6 x^3 +2x^2 -13x -6 = 0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

trial and error is my best shot for this; we can narrow down the pool by using the ......something something thrm lol

OpenStudy (amistre64):

+- 1,6,2,3 and synthetic them to test for 0 remainders

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x=6 ? 6| 1 +2 -13 -6 0 6 48 .....aint gonna be it ---------------- 1 8 35

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks i got it from there

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x=3? 3| 1 +2 -13 -6 0 3 15 6 -------------- 1 5 2 0 <-- yay!!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

now we got a quad left

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(x-3)(x^2 +5x +2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea thanks :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

youre welcome :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):
