hi...well electronics and communication is about the study of electronic circuits and devices both analog and digital and for first 2 years...
when u enter into 3rd year u'll get into communication field from there to end of course u'll learn about the various communication technologies like mobile communication, satellite comm, and also about the devices and antennas...
you would be avail of elective subjects from 3rd year...

In short, u'll learn about the communication tech and about the electronic devices and circuits deployed in it....

In Electronics and Communication Engineering, you would get to learn about various electronic components like diode, transistor, etc before you go on to more complex topics like the use of these electronic components together, as in an Integrated Circuit. In the Communications part of the course, various technologies like mobile communication, satellite communication, internet, etc will be covered. Most universities in India also include subjects like Electrical Machines, C Programming as part of the Engineering course.

I hope this is a question before your engineering course. Because there is no point in doing engineering without knowing what you are going to learn.
Electronics and Communication Engineering deals with the study of various things related to communication. It starts off with basics of electronics, which is required to understand your further lessons, and the various theories involved in it. like Satellite Communication, Electronic Devices, Analog and Digital Communication, etc. That's what you will be dealing with in this field. And there will be a lot of hardware studies also. So, if you are into learning all the various electronic components that you find within a circuit, then you will absolutely do well.
