on the basis of reason for mutation , there can be natural or artificial mutation .

and artificial mutation can be further classsified as chemical or radiation mutation



on the basis of result of mutation , it can be classified into point mutation involving change in single nucleotide or gross mutation involving change in more than one nucleotide .

so, depending upon how we are classifying mutation there can be diff. types of mutation
