can u help me write an essay on Tipu Sultan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tipu sultan was the son of Haider ali the man responsible for setting up the Mysore empire. Haider ali died due to cancer in the 2nd Anglo Mysore (1780-84) battle in 1782. and than Tipu sultan led the battle to victory in which Britishers were defeated. he was a very learned man and was much impressed with the french lifestyle. He was also a member of a French club. he sent his ambassadors to Afghanistan, Turkey and France. the great sultan knew very well that economy was the basis of a modern military so he laid special emphasis on economy by setting up industries in mysore on the modern lines of europe by inviting experts. he had a very modern army of musketeers etc on the lines of european armies. he even tried to build a company like The British East India Company. he fought the third Anglo Mysore war (1790-1792) but he was defeated in that because he was fighting againt the tripple powers of Nizam of Hyderabad and the Marathas who allied with the British and the battle was finished with the Treaty of Srirangapatnam due to which Tipu has to loose many of his territories. In the 4th Anglo Mysore war (1799) he died fighting in his capital Srirangapatnam. he was a brave man and used to say that its better to live like a lion fr a day instead of living like a sheep for ages.
