Given the following sets, select the statement below that is NOT true. A = {b, l, a, z, e, r}, B = {b, a, l, e}, C = {a, b, l, e}, D = {l, a, b}, E = {a, b, l} (Points : 2) E ⊆ A C ⊆ B D ⊆ C D ⊂ B C ⊂ B

Hi tjcjsha, do you know what the symbols \(\subset , \subseteq\) mean? Without that, it's very difficult to explain the answer to this problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here, We know that B and C have same elements so they are equal. So, B=C Similarly D=E and every set is a subset of A. Now the answers would be 1.E\[\subseteq\]A 2.C\[\subseteq\]B 3.D\[\subseteq\]C and D\[\subset\]B P.S- how do i get the sign between these 2 words? Please help me.

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

\ ( \ ) instead of \ [ \ ]

Thanks
