Joe leaves in a car headed for North Carolina traveling at 63mph. 1.3 hours later, his friend heads out to chase him down and give him a suitcase he forgot. If the friend is traveling 71mph, it will take him ? hours to catch up with Joe. Round to the nearest tenth of an hour. Could somebody explain a solution to come up with the answer step by step to the end, and also say why you chose your particular solution for the problem? I prefer a solution with only one kind of variable.
