Did I do this correctly?

4x = ½(x^2 + 8x - 20)

4x = ½x^2 + 4x - 10

0 = ½x^2 - 10

10 = ½x^2
--- --------
½ ½

5 = x^2

√5 = x

2.23 = x

i would leave it as x= (square root of) 5
