6 -3.5 < 5x + 3.5 - 3.5 < 11 - 3.5

2.5< 5x < 7.5

divide by 5:

2.5/5 < 5x/5 < 7.5/5

1/2 < x < 3/2

multiply by 2:

12 < 5x+7 < 22

subtract 7:

divide by 5:
