subtract 7/2:
6 -3.5 < 5x + 3.5 - 3.5 < 11 - 3.5
2.5< 5x < 7.5
divide by 5:
2.5/5 < 5x/5 < 7.5/5
1/2 < x < 3/2

OpenStudy (moongazer):
it is wrong it should be 5x+7 over 2
the 2 is the denominator of 5x+7

OpenStudy (moongazer):
not only of 7

OpenStudy (slaaibak):
oh, then people should use brackets...
if it's 6<(5x+7)/2<11
multiply by 2:
12 < 5x+7 < 22
subtract 7:
5 <5x < 15
divide by 5:
1 < x < 3
