(x-6)^2/25 + (y-2)^2/100 = 1 Find the center, vertices, co-vertices, foci, major axis, and minor axis.
i know the center is (6,2) LOL
yes it is
sqrt the bottom numbers to get the lengths of your verts; and the larger number is under the major axis for ellipses
since y is bigger; we go (x,+- 10)
and (+-5,y) for the coverts
verts: (6,12) (6,-8) co verts: (11,2)(1,2)
the foci are along the y as well; and they are the sqrt(100-25), sqrt(75)
foci: (6,2+sqrt(75))(6,2-sqrt(75))
75 = 25.3 so that can be simplified to: 5sqrt(3)
ok and major and minor axis?
major is the y=2 axis and the minor is the x=6 axis
THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!!
i might got thos backwards; its paralell to the y so thats the x=6 axis
and minor os // to the x so thats the y=2; dbl check that tho ;)
