Old English books are the best when it comes to expanding my vocabulary. After reading Wuthering Heights, I felt soooo smart talking =]

karthik initally take up reading books in simple english....if you are interested in novels or stories...go for chetan bhagat...every day news paper has lot of stuffs...i am learning new words everyday...try to make a practice with hindu or any magazines....

Read english comics whatever you like, and see the difference!

The Bible. It's not a novel but it is the foundation of modern English. Read the first two books then jump to Psalms and read on until Isaiah, then the New Testament.
