A recipe for spaghetti sauce requires four 16-ounce bottles of ketchup to make 2 gallons of sauce. How many bottles of ketchup are needed to make 5 gallons of sauce?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 bottles = 2 gallons 10 bottles = 5 gallons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats a wrong post.. lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is it wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we have 4 bottles = 2 gallons, ie., 2 bottles = 1 gallon ie., 2*5 bottles = 10 gallons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, last line reads: 2*5 bottles = 5 gallons so answer is 10 bottles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the question is "how many bottles"? so the weight of bottles (16-ounce) doesn't count in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok cool
