RBC (erythrocyte) is the cell in our circulatory system which carry oxygen from lung to tissue/cells. It is produced in bone marrow. It contains haemoglobin which is the pigment which carries oxygen. Normally their approximate count in blood is about 3 to 5 lakhs. Reduction in number of RBC cause anaemia, a disease. Mature RBC does not have nucleus.Normal life span is 120 days after which they are broken down.
