5x+21=7(x+3)-2x solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In this case we take a look at the right hand side, the 7 can be distributed into the parentheses. The right hand side will look like this: 7x+21-2x. This can further be simplified by subtracting the 2x from the 7x resulting in the right hand side looking like this: 5x+21. Now we can see that this equation will have no solution. Why, b/c the equation now look like this: 5x+21=5x+21. Our next step would be to subtract 5x from both sides. This would give us 21=21, but the variable disappears, so there is no solution

okay thats what i got the first time and i thought i was wrong can u hold on let

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me write this down

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have some more questions, is that okay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer would just be no solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, no solution because we are trying to find out what value x has, and if x disappears then we have no solution

any more question??
