cells divide for growth, repair, and reproduction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cells are the building blocks of body.(like brick in a building). They divide when their is a need/stimulus for growth(Growth factors). They divide to repair the damaged cells. They divide to increase the size of the body(like using bricks to build a home) .they divide to increase the number of cells (hyperplasia), when their is heavy need. they divide out of control in CANCER.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WELL CELLS DIVIDE SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY DIE OUT, SO NEW SETS OF DAUGHTER CELLS HAVE TO BE PRODUCED AS A REPLACEMENT FOR THE DEAD ONE....BESIDES THE DIVISION OF CELLS IN THE BODY IS A MANDATORY PROCESS....WITHOUT IT, YOU WOULDNT GROW AS YOU R SUPPOSE TO. I HOPE I HELPED TO UR UNDERSTANDING.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cells Divide because the nutrients can't reach the center of the cell when it gets too big.

OpenStudy (matthewrlee):
