Can you estimate the value of a car when it is 4 years old, referring to the below table, and without using a graphing calculator? x 0 1 3 y 15000 12000 6000 x=years old y=value in dollars

If you notice, between the 0th year and 1st year, there is a $3000 decrease (15000 - 12000 = 3000). You can simply use this increment and subtract 3000 four times to find how much it would cost after 4 years (15000/12000/9000/6000/3000) resulting in $3000 as the answer.

Thanks, that got me the right answer...simply could not figure out how to use the online graphing calculator...have never used a graphing calculator in my life. :)

All good, once you start getting around to using them, you'll never know how you lived without em ;P

Yeah, well...I don't think I'll ever be able to afford one..and I ain't going into debt over one either. But thanks anyway. :)

Well, you do have google: http://go.hrw.com/math/midma/gradecontent/manipulatives/GraphCalc/graphCalc.html http://www.mathworksheetsgo.com/tools/free-online-graphing-calculator.php These two calculators look the most legitimate (now you just have to figure out how to use it :D) Google is my best friend ;)
