first you ned to get the y by it's self. 3y + 17 = -13 3y + 17= -13 -17 then it will look like this: 3y= -13-17 then you want to solve -13-17 which is -30 so then you get 3y=-30 y= then you want to divide -30 divided by 3 which gives a -10 y=-10 then you want to chek you answer but subsitution your y for the -10. when you do this you should come out with -13 as you answer. if you like the answer then click "Good Answer".
