Hi,
Human beings can know about earth-quake only using earth quake predicting mechanisms(warning devices - which catch tiny movements....mechanisms usually contain electromagnets are used now a days...Most used in earthquake prone areas like JAPAN) or when earthquake happens. It is said that some animals and birds can know(predict) that earth quake is coming and so they can move to a safe place.
