Find the values below for the angle theta with the following function value and contrait: function value: cos theta =-5/13 Constraint: csc theta greater than 0 a) sin theta=? b)tan theta=? c) csc theta=? d) sec theta=? e)cot theta=? f) sin(negative theta)=? g)sec(negative theta)=? h)sec(negative theta)=? i)tan(90 degrees - theta)=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sin theta is 12 over 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, we draw a triangle, and cosine gives us the adj and hypo values, but we need the value for the other leg. So we perform pythogrean thorem and find the other leg. Which turns out to be 12. Sine is opp orver hypo, so we get 12 over 13

ohh i see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now that we know all the values of the triangle, we can figure out tan, it will be 12 over 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh ok so for csc is hmmm what? im not sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dont u need r?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

csc is 1/sin, so just simplify the fraction 1/12/13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

remember we found the value of sin as 12/13
