Find x to the nearest tenth. Consult the table above to find the cosine number. x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = 1.2/cos(33deg) = 1.4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did u solve that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cos(33) = adjacent/hypotenuse you know that the adjacent side of the triangle has a length 1.2, and the hypotenuse has length x. the angle is 33, so: cos(33) = 1.2 / x cos(33) is just a number, so you can multiply by x on both sides of the equation to get x*cos(33) = 1.2 then just divide both sides by cos(33) to get x = 1.2/cos(33)

oh thanks :)

no problem!

you mind helping me with one more?
