OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\int\limits_{-1}^{1}x * dx\] found the answer as 1/2 true or not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

heck no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer is 0 if it is \[\int_{-1}^1xdx\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh lol i wrote it worng its 0 1 not -1 1... sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh. then heck yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\int\limits_{0}^{1}x*dx\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got a triangle and one half base times hight is one half of one is one half

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because y = x is just a line and if you draw it from x = 0 to x = 1 you see a right triangle with base one and hight one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of course you could also take the anti-derivative and plug in the numbers but that is too much work for this problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think i meant "height"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you got it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanx :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so as we did this we counted the arc from 1 to -1?? or the shortest way ??
