The biggest strawberry shortcake needed 360 sq ft of strawberry topping. If this was numerically 225 more than 3 times it's length, what were the dimensions of this rectangle shortcake?

OpenStudy (gw2011):

Area=(Length)(Width) Length is calculated as follows: 3L+225=360 3L=135 L=45 feet Now use the Area formula to find the Width: A=(45)(W) 360=45W Rearranging this equation you get: 45W=360 W=8 feet Therefore, the dimensions are: Length=45 feet Width=8 feet
