Find the inverse of the function f(x)=1/(x-2) Choices: a. x-2 b.(1/x)+2 c.1/(x+2) d.x+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i wasnt sure between b & c. can you explain?

OpenStudy (angela210793):

u mean \[f^{-1}?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you could swap x and y, and solve for the y but I just did guess and check lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you f[ f^-1(x)] then you should get "x"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also just about thinking what an inverse actually means

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are undoing something, you are solving an equation backwards kinda

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

should be obvious that it cannot be c.
