Solve the system using elimination by addition. #5 2x + 2y + 3z = 23 2x + 2y + 5z = 33 -4x - 4y - 8z = -55

OpenStudy (angela210793):

don't u have 0 from the left if u add all those? oO

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats correct

OpenStudy (angela210793):

0=1??????? tht's not true....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no solution

OpenStudy (angela210793):

yea.... maybe...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so there are no solutions then?

OpenStudy (angela210793):

I think so...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, 0 isn't equal to 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you explain clearer why there is no solution for this equation system?

OpenStudy (angela210793):

If u know how to solve it...pls write it so i can learn as well :):)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not sure I can. However, because what you wrote before, I though you figured out at first glance that there was not a solution for the system lol. Im running out of time now. Gonna do it graphically and check if actually there is (not) a solution for the system. When I come back from work I'll solve it analytically

OpenStudy (angela210793):

K...I'm waiting :):):) well i said so cause when u add both parts u'll get 0=1...and tht's not true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I ended up with something like that. Apparent there is not a solution for this system.

OpenStudy (angela210793):

kk :)
