Clothing has two purposes; protection and symbolism. No more no less. Both are essential and one cannot exist without the other. Fashion is a development of symbolism. In some cases fashion reaches an extreme where protection is questionable. The line between what is clothing and what is purely art made of cloth becomes unclear. How must protection can be lost before it is no longer clothing?

In all cases, dress accordingly.
