In which direction does current travel across an emf source such as a battery? From positive to negative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the convention is to take from +ve to negative. i=rate of flow of charge. u know the equation rite. i=dQ/dt ... this implies it the rate of flow of +ve charges...which flow from +ve side of batery to _ve side. hence the convention :)

Conventional flow goes from positive to negative. Hole flow is from negative to positive. Where conventional flow is the flow of electrons, Hole flow is the flow if holes that the electrons leave so it moves in the opposite direction.
