it's science.... but i still need help :D Which of the following describes the way an object moves when an unbalanced force acts upon it? A. The object will move in the direction of the force. B. The object will not move. C. The object will move in the opposite direction of the force. D. The object will move back and forth.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your back!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am!! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am usually in the group chat though ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C, because if u push a door, it will move in the opposite direction away from you, not towards you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wish i could help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait.. but a door is MADE to work that way.. like the hinges lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL, i mean in general. Is there anything that moves towards you, when you push it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm no :D lol i was just saying that was an iffy example :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:P gotcha.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which of the following is the correct unit for force? A. Watts B. Joules C. Meters D. Newton

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D ?...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Newton.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what is an unbalanced force?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont think any of those answers are really correct. The object will accelerate in the direction of the net force, but it doesnt have to move in the direction of the force. If something is moving to the left and there is a force to the right it will slow down but for a while it will still be moving to the left.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

acceleration is always in direction of the force though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

unbalanced means net force is not zero

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We have unbalanced force: \[SigmaF \neq0\] because of Newton's second law: \[F{net}=m.a\] F and a are vectores. so they are parallel and have same direction. But generally, direction of movement is not same with acceleration (and force). The object will move in direction of insstantaneous velocity. I think answers are note correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hi my smily friend. Do you agree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm ;D Well I think I agree yes (: So then what would YOU think the answers are? :o If that's what you meant..^.^ B/c you wrote note ;D
