ok if the length of a fish tank was 35 the width was 16 and the hight was 24 and total volume was 7840cm^2 how would i find the depth of the water?

Your question is not very clear but I'll try to answer it Volume of cuboidal tank = length x breadth x height ie. l x b xh = 35 x 16 x24 (I presume they r in cm as u hv not given units) so total volume = 13440 cm^3 What u r given is that volume of water is 7840 cm^3 (ie tank is partially filled) and u hv to find how high the water is in the tank Since Volume = l x b x h so volume = h ------- l x b 7840 cm^3 7840 cm^3 so h of water = ------------ = ------------- = 14 cm 35 cm x 16 cm 560 cm^2 Hope this answers it for u....
