the final notation has to be of the form a.bc...*10^n where a is a natural number and b,c,n....can be whole numbers...
eg of scientific notations:

For example: 7897 would be 7.897*10^3 because you moved the decimal from after the last 7 to after the first 7, and you moved it over 3 spaces to the left.
