Find the magnitude of the vector a and the smallest possitive angle θ from the possitive x-axis to the vector OP that corresponds to a. a=10i-10j

magn= 10root2
theta = 135
i m getin magnitude as 10 rot 2
I understand how you are finding the Magn. however I have no idea how you found theta.
the vector lies in the second quadrant...if you swing the arm 135 deg anticlockwise(+ve)
u just plot the vector on the plane
ok thank you
the vector lies in the fourth quadrant. so it will be tan(theta) = -1. the angle will be 315degrees. but tan(315)=tan(135).so the answer is 135degrees.
oh pellet...sorry
