From the words as questioned. rational inequality implies 2 things, the obvious an inequality, and 2nd a rational expression. being rational it can be made into fraction form. So we have a/b <k where k can be any integer we want to put there.

I should state a and b are integers as well.

there are various alternatives you could use such as simply by changing the less than sign for greater than, for greater or equal, or less than or equal signs respectively.
