which DNA is not found on genes? unconnected, loose, trash, or junk?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gene is a part of DNA. So genes are found on DNA and not otherwise.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

junk dna is non coding region and hence not found on dna..

All DNA (Even junk DNA) that is locate ALONG the Strand of the double Helix is on the Genes. However, there IS DNA dangling at the end of every strand that has no Gene-purpose whatsoever. They DO however determine how much longer you have to live. They are called Telomeres and every time your cells divide, they get slightly smaller, and when they're gone, your cells stop dividing. On a side note there is a chemical that stop them from shortening when your cells divide, it's called Telomerase. Two cells natually produce telomerase: Stem Cells and Malignant Cancer Cells, hence the lack of reseach you've heard of.
