Find the vertex, line of symmetry, and the maximum or minimum value of a quadratic function, and graph the function f(x) =2x^2-8x+8. What is the vertex?
Vertex at x=2. Which is (2,0)
is that the Maximum or the Minimum of the vertex
Well since the constant in front of the x^2 is positive that means it is concave up. So its a minimum.
Ok thank you for the help
No problem :P
hey you wouldn't happen to know how to do this question The carpenter is building a rectangular with a fixed perimeter of 304 ft. What are the dimensions would yield the maximum area ? What is the maximum area? I would really be greatful
I'm assuming this is from calculus (if not you can still solve it :P)
No this is for Algebra
Okay. Then forget where I said differentiate. There is actually a simpler way to do this. Would you agree that the maximum area would come from a square? Because A=s^2. In that case, if the perimeter is 304. Each side is 76. (304/4) So the max area is 76^2=5776 ft^2. (I was off by a factor of 4 in the other one, thats why I deleted it xP)
Thank you again I totally get it you are credit to Academics
You're welcome :) And thank you for the compliment. Any other questions just post them. I'll be up for at least another hour.
No other questions at this time my friend you have a good night
