When figuring out 4x-2y=10, how do I move the -2 over? What I mean is: 4x-27=10, subtract 4x -2y=-4x+10 What do I do after this?

Basically we use opposite operations addition changes to subtraction (so +4x changes to -4x) subtraction changes to addition multiplication changes to division division changes to multiplication -2y = -2 x y so this is multiplication so it changes to division so divide both sides by -2 and u get - 4x + 10 -2(2x -5) y = ------------ = ---------- = 2x-5 (after cancelling common factor -2 ) -2 -2 Hope this clears it for you......
