Useful or not, popular culture does reflect the outlook and prevailing environment of the society. Sometimes even vice-versa is true, in places, where the prevalent culture becomes the basis for the origination of a newer persistent society. The genuineness of this idea could be better established by looking at a newborn society, like the one which recently gained independence or which has undergone series of systemic changes (case study : Egypt, Libya). In these countries, people's priorities and wish-list are very different from other parts of the world which can clearly be seen in the prevailing culture. The culture can be considered a 'useful' expression of society in terms of the desire of populace. What the people actually want, is represented through the culture they build up around themselves. But for this to happen it is necessary that we live in a free society, where people have their fundamental rights.
