give the equation of the function that has the following characteristics: a) the function has a removable discontinuity at x=5 b) the function has a jump discontinuity at x=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just draw anything that when i gets to x = 0 continue it upper or lower and the discontinuity just put an open space on x = 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just an open space for x=5? would the line y=3, for example, suffice with a hole somewhere at x=5? thanks

OpenStudy (amistre64):

removable means a hole; jump means a seperation; so you are probably looking at a piecewise function

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3(x-5) ------ creates a hole; and define it as; x >0 (x-5) -4x can be used defined as ; x<=0
