Can anyone please tell me a good compiler for C programming and links from where i can download it? I also want to know links and books where i can find good programming exercises.

Yup, gcc works on windows, and I recommend CodeBlocks as your IDE.

MinGw is the best for windows , also helps when porting some of your software to linux and Mac computers as the compiler is almost identical to GCC
