See the degree here will be the highest sum of the power of all the variables Here in the first term x has power3 and y has power 4 so 3+4 =7 In the second term x has power 1 y has power 2 and z has power 5 so 1+2+5 = 8 Since 8 is the highest sum so the polynomial has degree 8
